How do I get started?

Adults and families with adult children.

Who do you see in your practice?

Yes. As a Marriage & Family Therapist, I specialize in viewing my clients, individuals included, from a systemic lens considering various factors such as history, family dynamics, life experiences, who they are in relation to the systems around them that contribute to current concerns.

Do you meet with individuals as a Marriage & Family Therapist?

I accept some insurances such as Aetna, Highmark, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Optum and United. (Please be advised that insurance providers require a mental health diagnosis, which I would be required to submit.) I also accept private pay/out-of-pocket, which ensures greater privacy and provides you with more autonomy over your own treatment.

What insurance types do you take?

For private pay/out-of-pocket clients, Individual Sessions are $130 and Family Sessions are $150.

How much does therapy cost per session?

In order to make psychotherapy more accessible, I offer sliding scale to a limited number of clients based on financial need. I also provide free sessions through Lotus Therapy Fund (for Asian clients). Please visit the website for more information.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

We accept credit card and debit card to be saved for ongoing sessions.

What forms of payment do you accept?

LOTUS THERAPY FUND

Sessions are provided through telehealth using a HIPAA-compliant platform.

Where will we meet?

During the first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, identify your goals and it will be a little different than other sessions in that I will be gathering more information regarding your history. I will also address any questions &/or concerns you may have regarding therapy.

What will my first session be like?

Sessions are typically 55 minutes for individual therapy sessions and 60 to 90 minutes depending on the needs for family sessions. For new clients, we would meet 1x/week until we notice progress towards your goals. From there, we can discuss whether it would feel appropriate to meet every other week.

How long is a session and how often will I meet with you?

It varies based on your needs and how long you have been carrying what you’d like to work on. If what brings you to therapy has been with you for many years, it may take at least up to 3 months for you to notice some progress, while many feel relief after the first session. On average, many clients meet for at least 6 months and if they would like more long-term support, may choose to meet as long as 1 year or more. The goal is for you to work me out of a job after you’ve gained enough tools to apply outside of session.
